REPORT

The Third Asian Deans’ Forum was held on February 2, 2018 at the National University of Singapore.

In the meeting, members expressed interest in exploring a collaboration platform on AI in the area of materials research. SNU-leading working group will follow-up and make possible proposals at the upcoming ADF @HKUST 2018. It was recognized that the area of Innovation & Entrepreneurship was of great interest to all and that each was developing its own initiatives in the area. This was especially highlighted in the presentations by SNU and UTokyo. Discussion on this theme will continue to the next meeting. HKUST proposed to also host “Rising Stars: Women in Engineering Workshop” in October, parallel with the Forth ADF meeting. This workshop is not intended as a recruitment platform but as a mean to enlarge the pool of academic candidates for Asia; drawing talent from the main competitive region

The next meeting will be hosted by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in October 2018.
