大学の世界展開力強化事業は、国際的に活躍できるグローバル人材の育成と大学のグローバル展開力の強化を目指し、高等教育の質の保証を図りながら、日本人学生の海外留学と外国人学生の戦略的受入を行う、海外大学との国際教育連携の取組を支援することを目的として、文部科学省において平成23年度から開始された事業です。
東京大学工学系研究科国際工学教育推進機構では、以下の２つの事業の実施・運営を行っています。
Since 2011, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) of Japan has been providing financial support to programs run by Japanese universities to foster human resources capable of being globally active and to assure the quality in internationalization of higher education.
Currently, four programs run by the The University of Tokyo are being supported by this so-called “Re-inventing Japan Project”. The IIIEE of the School of Engineering is responsible for the coordination of the following two projects.

このプログラムでは、東京工業大学と共同で、イスタンブール工科大学、中東工科大学、ボアジチ大学などのトルコのトップ大学と協力し、国際競争力の高い共同研究を行う研究教育拠点を形成します。
